MARY MOTHER OF GOD NEWS FROM FR GODFRED, MAY 2025
Dear Faithful People,

May the light of the risen Lord shine upon you all. Mary, Mother of God Children of Ghana are calling again for your assistance and support. It is almost a year now since I visited Ghana to see the work on the orphanage building and its completion. As of June, last year when I returned from Ghana, the building was almost completed. Through your continuous generous donations and by the grace of God as we speak the orphanage has been completed and equipped with basic domestic necessities such water, electricity, beds and beddings, kitchen items such as cooking utensils, fridges and deep-freezers, recreational facilities like Televisions and video games and some other domestic materials.
The orphanage is now preparing to receive the first group of children, sometime later this year, starting with 20 kids who are being prepared to be presented by their families. As already stated at the website, the objective of the orphanage is to nurture, assist and prepare the children through formal education and training of skills to equip them with profitable life endowments for the children’s future. The orphanage is a non-profit organization solely dependent on the generosity of benefactors and organizations and will be responsible for the total caregiving of every child in the orphanage until the person is fully equipped to live a successful adult life.
It is estimated that the overall cost for the care of a child per year in Ghana Cedis will be equivalent to $ 1000.00 covering Feeding, Clothing, Health insurance, Education, Recreation, Religious and spiritual facilities and remuneration for domestic workers and assistants. Hence, at least a total amount of $ 20,000 would be expected every year for the sustenance of the orphanage.
On behalf of Mary, Mother of God Children’s home, I want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone for your generous donations in the past and in the future which are crucial to our mission to provide a safe environment for the children in Ghana. May Mary, mother of perpetual help grants you the blessings of her Son. Thank you.
Reverend Godfred Appiah-Marfo
