MARY, MOTHER OF GOD ORPHANAGE
Ghana, Africa

Heading 3

Our Mission

Here at Mary Mother of God Orphanage, our mission will be to seek out the neglected, abandoned, and forgotten children living in Ghana. We will provide not only housing and nourishment, but a place to create a family focused on hope, purpose and dignity. Our foundation will allow these children to grow in safety and peace, which is every child deserves. We will strive to offer them the sufficient education and training that they will need to conquer the challenges of their futures.
Dealing with the challenges facing these children requires faith-filled problem-solvers who are willing to donate their treasured talents to God's children. With our mission being founded on prayer, tenderness, and determination, the children will have the best chance to grow in self-sufficiency and learn to give back in their communities. Mary Mother of God Orphanage is the living pursuit to inspire this local Ghana community to employ actions over words.
Management and Staffing

Father Godfred has organized a model for the proposed staffing and worker positions that will enable the orphanage to function while ensuring the safety and needs of the children being cared for.
-
In the first phase of development, Fr. Godfred will be the Director of Affairs. He will also have an Assistant Director who will help him oversee the daily operations, the physical property, and any ongoing projects in the facility.
-
There will be a Coordinator who will keep track of personnel files, schedule the children’s routines, transportation, sports activities, etc.

-
A Nurse will be on site to monitor the health of the children and coordinate with local hospitals and doctors for any medical needs a child may need outside of basic first aid.
-
A Head Teacher will oversee the education needs of each child. The older children will attend school nearby and will be monitored for progress and aided with tutoring if needed. The younger children will be taught on the premises with the aid of at least one additional Teacher's Assistant.

-
A Director of Physical Education will be in place to keep each child active and help develop athletic skills and teamwork. This person will also coordinate social activities that will teach the children proper interaction skills and manners.
A thorough screening of all employees and volunteers will be ensured, keeping the safety and well-being of the children as the primary focus of this Christ-centered operation.
